Draft: operator details still to be completed.
Who is responsible for this site?
Uglisite is a personal educational project, operated and maintained by its creator rather than by a registered company. For questions about your personal information or this notice, contact healthworkerburnout@gmail.com.
Using the Clear instructions lesson (live on this site)
The Accessibility lesson's "Try it" example and its Before/After comparison are fictional booking demonstrations, already part of this outer website. Use made-up details in their forms — no real booking is made.
These demonstration forms contain no code that submits entries anywhere: what you type is handled only within that browser page, is not sent to a server, and is cleared when you use "Reset example", leave the page, or refresh.
Using the Uglisite Experience
The Experience is a further fictional booking demonstration, built as its own prototype and now connected to this website (see The Experience). Use made-up details in its forms — no real booking is made.
Like the lesson demonstrations above, the Experience contains no code that submits form entries anywhere: what you type is handled only within that browser page, is not sent to a server, and is lost when you leave or refresh.
Why we process information, and on what basis
We process personal information for two purposes: to respond when someone emails us, and to operate, maintain and protect the website itself (for example, through the technical processing described below). In both cases we rely on legitimate interests as the lawful basis — ours, in running and responding to enquiries about the site, balanced against your rights. We do not use your information for any other purpose, and we do not sell it.
Hosting and technical information
Uglisite is hosted by Hostinger. Choosing and configuring that hosting is our responsibility, and we remain responsible for how the website is delivered to you even though the underlying infrastructure is run by Hostinger. As part of operating that infrastructure, Hostinger processes technical information such as IP addresses, requested pages, timestamps and browser details to deliver and secure the website. Hostinger sets its own retention periods for this technical and security data, which we do not control directly; see Hostinger's own privacy information for details of how it handles this.
Fonts
This website's typefaces (Bricolage Grotesque, Syne and Space Mono) are included as files within the site itself, rather than loaded from Google Fonts or another external font service. Your browser does not connect to a separate font provider to display them, and no technical information such as your IP address is sent anywhere for this purpose.
Links to other websites
The Resources page links to other organisations' websites. When you follow one of those links, the destination site's own privacy practices apply, not this one.
Cookies and similar technologies
Uglisite's own pages — including the Experience — do not set cookies and do not use local or session storage, and the website does not include analytics, advertising or tracking technologies.
Hostinger, as the hosting provider, may use its own technical or security measures as part of delivering the website; this is outside what these pages themselves control. See Hostinger's own policies if you want details of that layer.
Contacting Uglisite
If you email us, we use your email address and the contents of your message, under legitimate interests, to respond to your enquiry. We keep this information for as long as needed to respond and deal with any related follow-up, and no longer.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law gives you rights over your personal information, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and portability. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
Contact healthworkerburnout@gmail.com to ask about your information. You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner's Office.
International processing
Hostinger, which hosts this website, operates as part of a larger international service and may process information outside the UK. We have not independently verified the specific legal safeguards it applies to that processing, so rather than assert that safeguards are in place, we point you to Hostinger's own privacy information for details of how it handles international transfers.
Changes to this notice
We will update this page if the website's data practices change, and revise the date at the top.
